About The Office Gentleman:
She stepped out of the bathroom happy that the dress she had chosen for this evening’s entertainment was perfect. This was a blind date and she knew that her father had meant well, but since she had broken up with her boyfriend, he had been over-compensating for the lack of her mother. He was every bit as bad as any mother could be and although he had never said as much, she had guessed that he was hankering after grandchildren and all the things older adults seemed to need in their lives. The date would simply be a concert and a dinner and that would be the end of it. Carl wasn’t the kind of guy that women fell head over heels over. He was practical, fairly good looking, but lacking in humor and she knew it.
“I’ve got to go!” she said to Kelly. “Otherwise, I will be late for my date!”
“You’ve still got to spill the beans about your interview, but I shall catch you tomorrow no doubt.”
“No doubt,” said Elisa, pressing the button on her phone to close off a conversation she wasn’t yet ready to have. Everyone knew that the guy hiring at Brandon & Sons Enterprises was a complete dish, worthy of any girl’s fantasy. The fact that he had signed the letter himself gave Elisa enough material for wet dreams, although she would never admit to it. She had seen his photograph in Time Magazine and had thought about him a few times over the course of the last couple of years. She never really thought that her application for an internship would have been taken seriously, but the letter that lay on the table confirmed it and she smiled as she took one last look, before putting on her coat for an evening out with Carl.
